Have you ever saw a situation in which a person is making a mistake and not showing any sign of guilt when confronted or reprimanded but giggled instead?
This scene happens a lot in Asia.
To Asians, giggle not only a reaction to something funny or laughing at someone, but also to express nervousness.
When one gets nervous, one instinctively giggles. Possibly laughing at oneself.
To foreigner, and even fellow Asians that already transformed into global people by social environments, it is considered annoying because they think the giggly person is not taking things seriously or even being disrespectful.
So, if both ends realize this phenomena, hopefully there will be more tolerance.
